Located only 9 Km from Ibiza, it is a country house with a patio for those summer suppers. El Ama Lur is a Basque inspired restaurant- with a Mediterranean outlook which has been considered the default setting for restaurants on the island of Ibiza.
It isn't a restaurant serving Basque cuisine, in spite of its name. A good cross section of the highest levels of ibizan society gather around its tables.
The highly recommended dishes include mozzarella soup with sugar coated baby tomatoes and onion fried cuttlefish, wild sea bass with an almond crust and pistachio sauce, sirloin of lamb with a honey and sesame seed glaze, lobster salad with shavings of goose foie gras, millefeuille cod brandade with tuna tartar and cod, turbot with calvados jelly, suckling veal with roda pepper, lamb sirloin with sesame and honey glaze. For dessert there are frozen yoghurt cappuccinos with raspberry coulis, orange soup with cheese ice cream. And there is a select wine list available.
