Ibiza Adventure: Cova can Marçà
Zone hotelsPort de Sant Miguel
Description
The Can Marçà cove is to be found in the north of the island in the port of San Miguel, 20km from Eivissa, 25km from Sant Antoni and 23 km from Santa Eularia. The cave is located in a natural environment with incomparable views over the Bay, opposite the islands of Murada and Ferradura. The Can Marçà Cove amounts to one of Ibiza's principal tourist attractions, without a shadow of a doubt the most important one on the island. The whims of nature have left certain outlines behind, with lakes and an environment astonishing for its beauty.
The visitor will enjoy a 40 minute run around involving natural scenery with water, light and sound effects. Smugglers were the first people to use this cave for storing their merchandise. Even nowadays the black and red marks which signalled the caves entrance and exits can still be seen.
The cave is open to the public and totally kitted out for visits since the early eighties. One of its biggest attractions is the light and sound show which goes hand in hand with a waterfall which replicates what once was a natural one.
